Flaxmill Bay Motel is only 25 metres from Front Beach (left & centre). Flaxmill Bay (right) is around the corner, and is a safe swimming beach for kids, as well as a place to launch small boats.

Front Beach is a perfect spot for fishing off the rocks or off the beach. The bay is a great place for water sports, and the islands out from Mercury Bay are ideal for fishing, diving, or just having a BBQ on the beach. Flaxmill Bay Motel offers boat parking.

From Flaxmill Bay Motel, the ferry to Whitianga (left) is only a 1-minute walk away. In Whitianga, you can spend the day shopping, buy fish and chips, walk along the beach, or go to the movies.

Purangi Estuary (centre), located at the south end of Cooks Beach (10 minutes walk from Flaxmill Bay Motel), is ideal for launching the boat. Its safe swimming areas are perfect for the family to enjoy.

There are many walks around Flaxmill Bay. The view from the hilltop is amazing (right).
